OK. The news is good. I’ve sent off FACEBOOKING WITH MONA to be edited. It’s about as complete as it’s going to be, and I’m pleased with how it came out. And honestly, in my head, Jane is already starting to take shape as a character I can visualize, in my next manuscript, THE STORY OF JANE. Happy Weekend!

FACEBOOKING WITH MONA is now a finished manuscript!!! I am so pleased with the story, and how it works itself from beginning to end. Now it needs to be edited and proofed, and then I’m free to start THE STORY OF JANE, my next proposed story.

GROWING UP LATELY is about to go public. It’s being submitted to Amazon, and then the Nook, etc. So it will soon be out in print and ready for downloading.

Okay, I’ve proofed and edited and revised GROWING UP LATELY for about the hundredth time, and I’m done. Well, maybe one more time. And then I’m done. Forever, I hope. My publisher will reformat it one more time, and that’s that. It will go out for publication, assuming it gets approved. If not, then the process starts all over again.

So, fingers crossed!

I received my very first copy of my paperback edition of GROWING UP LATELY! It looks so professional. My publisher did a really good job of presenting it, and I think I did a pretty good job in writing it! In any event, it looks amazing and I am so proud to have it completed finally. I am so pleased :-)

Getting the book ready for approval for Amazon. I can’t wait!

Here’s the blurb on the new book cover for Amazon:

Growing up is hard enough for any young woman trying to make it on her own, but toss in a self-absorbed alcoholic mother, a cold distant grandmother, and the mystery of her father’s death … Well, with all the family secrets, Amanda just isn’t sure how to take control of her life.

Even a sizable inheritance doesn’t bring her happiness. It just brings more unanswered questions as she travels from her secure life in Texas to England and back in search of answers.

Will she be able to transform herself from an alcoholic flirting with rehab to a maturing adult able to take control of her life? Or will she succumb to the mysteries surrounding her birth and the family secrets that threaten to engulf her and keep her in her dysfunctional existence?

Well, it appears I am now well into the new year. I took more time off than I meant to for the holidays, but it was nice to have that break. Now, back to writing on FACEBOOKING WITH MONA. The story is being told by year, starting with the year of Woodstock in 1969, and the story is then moving to the current year. So its’ moving along, and I’m now up to the year 1984. It is turning out to be an amazing journey for me as I relive and remember so many of the events that happened in the 70′s, 80′s, 90′s, and even into the beginning of the 21st century. I just hope I am able to do it all the justice it deserves :) .

I met with my publisher today. She cleaned up my manuscript, GROWING UP LATELY, and got it into a downloadable format. Then we sent it off to be copyrighted. We’re in the process of getting it formatted the ereader sites, such as Kindle and the Nook. That’s the next step, sending my manuscript off for approval. Honestly, this is all new to me, and I’m just happy to be along for the ride. My original launch date was March 1, 2013. But now that things are moving so fast, thanks to my marvelous editor, it looks like I can move it up to February 1, 2013. Which suits me just fine, because I am soooooo impatient. Also, I’m moving along with FACEBOOKING WITH MONA, and hope to have that book launched no later than July 1, 2013. Seriously, Mona has just taken off and become her own person. So the writing is merely a matter of my following her along and writing it all down. Just like Amanda in GROWING UP LATELY. Once I got her voice, it just seemed like she took over. All I had to do was document it.

I am also pleased to have gotten the copyright form GROWING UP LATELY now, while it’s still 2012. That way, I published my first novel this year, and will do FACEBOOKING WITH MONA next year. I also have a third manuscript planned, and hope to complete that by the end of 2013. Only time will tell if I can continue to write at my current speed. So much depends on the actual characters, and how they are able to come to life.

As for now, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year :-)
